Golaleh Barzani, DMD, FACS

Her clinical interests include open TMJ surgery and total joint replacement, TMJ arthroscopy, surgical and non-surgical treatment of TMJ disorders , corrective jaw surgery, maxillomandibular advancement for obstructive sleep apnea, jaw pathology, facial reconstruction, salivary gland pathology , alveolar cleft repair, lingual and alveolar nerve repair, complex facial trauma, bone grafting, ento alveolar procedures, Implants , wisdom teeth, IV sedation and management of myofascial pain syndrome. Dr. Barzani, obtained her bachelor’s degree at university of California in Berkeley and attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Her postdoctoral education includes a general practice residency at Staten Island university hospital, an internship and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Brooklyn Hospital Center. Prior to moving to New York, Dr. Barzani was an attending surgeon and assistant professor of surgery at Geisinger commonwealth school of medicine in Pennsylvania. During her time at Geisinger medical center, she practiced full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery at a busy level one trauma center. She is currently attending surgeon at Albany Medical Center, Ellis Hospital and Saratoga Hospital and holds appointment as faculty in department of otolaryngology in Albany Medical Center. She is a diplomate of American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, fellow of American College of Surgeons, member of American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, member of American Cleft lip and Palate Association, member of International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Outside of work she is a big Formula 1 fan and a foodie and enjoys soccer, biking and travelling.
